Driven to Data Distraction

Big Data – a term we hear so frequently in the digital space and one which can be confusing, overwhelming, and sometimes, paralyzing.

We pointed out at the end of last year that big data, along with BI, was clearly one of the big business stories in 2012. Every indication points to 2013 continuing to see major shifts and opportunities in this realm.

The challenge for many organizations is to truly understand what big data means to the company, particularly as it relates to key business objectives and customer relationships.

The article here acknowledges this challenge and alludes to the importance of developing a unified “data architecture”, determining which investments add the most value, and becoming more agile. Our take is that all are critical to success, especially that ninja-like agility.
